THIS IS WHY YOU NEED A DESIGNER FOR YOUR BOOK!
Dear author,
I would like to talk to you about colors, typography, layout and composition in relation to your book. As a graphic designer, I know how important these elements are to creating a visually impressive book, but it's also important to me to understand how important your book is to you and who you're addressing.
I can imagine how much time, energy and heart blood you put into writing your book. You've worked hard to get every detail right, and you want your book to be read and appreciated by your readers. That is why it is so important that the book looks the way you want it to.
Colors, typography, images and illustrations, layout and composition are all important elements that can help strengthen your message and create the mood you want. With the right use of colors, we can highlight important parts of your text and create an atmosphere that suits your theme. With the right typography, we can ensure that your book is easy to read and suits your style. And with a good layout and composition, we can create a visual structure that makes it easy for the reader to follow and understand your message.
I understand that your book is more than just words on a page - it is a work of passion, hard work and love. Therefore, I will work closely with you to create a design that is consistent with your visions and feelings about your book.
I will help you with strategies around colors, typography, images and illustrations, layout and composition so that your book is beautiful and matches the content. Together, let's create a book that reflects your authorship and dedication.
With best regards
Your graphic designer
WORKFLOWS FOR YOUR MANUSCRIPT
A. THE PROFESSIONAL
In this solution, the book is laid out and programmed in the professional software, Indesign. When you have written the manuscript in your own software - it could be MS Word or InCopy - we take over the text. The book is then laid out with illustrations, motifs, etc., and all the advanced functions for keywords, cross-references, etc. are programmed by a professional graphic designer in the Indesign software - ready for a beautiful book print and as an e-book.
B. THE SIMPLE
If you are writing on a trade book or a book with a moderately complicated layout and prefer to stay in Word, we can still help you make the book ready for print and e-book without switching to Indesign. We design the cover, motifs and graphics and arrange the working document. This alternative is suitable, e.g. for fiction with page numbers and a table of contents, but where there is no need for automation to manage other registers - keywords etc.
LAYOUT AND COMPOSITION
Layout and composition play a role in the reader's experience of a book. As a graphic designer, I will help you choose an appropriate layout and composition form that suits the purpose and style of your book. We will discuss different options including grid and the use of white air (blank areas in the paper) and I will give you examples of how they can be used to strengthen your message. It is important to take into account how the reader will navigate the book and how the information must be presented in a clear and understandable way.
Overall, colors, typography and images, layout and composition are all important elements of book design. As your graphic designer, I will help you think strategically about these elements and find a solution that hits your readers as best as possible.
